CILTEP is a nootropic supplement that has been developed to offer a number of positive cognitive benefits. The name stands for “Chemically Induced Long-Term Potentiation”. That’s quite a mouthful, and it would have been difficult to fit all that on the label, so CILTEP it is!
According to the official Ciltep sales page, benefits typically last for 8-14 hours which you would hope is the case with a nootropic. If the effects lasted for 2 hours, you may as well just go and have a cup of coffee (said half tongue-in-cheek).
Natural Stacks have made a popular product. I’ll put it under the microscope and see whether it’s as good as they say it is.
Ciltep is a mind-enhancing supplement produced in Wyoming, USA, by BulletProof, who claim to be on a mission to help people think faster, live better, and improve their performance. According to the sales page Ciltep lives up to that mission statement by providing several main benefits:
- Optimized mental performance
- Optimized focus, and drive
- Increased motivation & mental endurance
- Improved study ability
- Improved ability to retain information
- Improved concentration
- Improved long-term memory
- Improved mood and social ease
In short, the formulation appears to cover all the bases and provide everything most nootropic users are likely to require, and all of this is apparently achieved by the use of just four natural ingredients.
CILTEP in Summary
CILTEP has been around for quite a while, as far as nootropic supplements go. In my opinion they are using a recipe of ingredients that don’t work as well as the cutting edge products coming out today.
As much as I’d like to say that raising cAMP levels in the brain is going to have a significant effect (if it’s even possible to do so effectively), I can’t, especially when there are such proven nootropic ingredients out there that CILTEP does not include.
#1 Recommended Product: Mind Lab Pro
My favourite product is Mind Lab Pro (click for my review) and judging by how far ahead of even the closes competition that is, I can’t recommend anything else as highly.
I’ve used many nootropic supplements and this is one I’m going to keep purchasing for personal use again and again!
Ingredients in CILTEP
With just five main ingredients, CILTEP have gone for a more reserved approach than some:
Vitamin B-6 is an important nutrient that supports production of essential neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and GABA. Healthy amounts of vitamin B-6 can indirectly contribute to improved states of mental clarity, focus, and drive.
Artichoke Extract is what it is—a vegetable extract. It may not sound a very exciting ingredient, but it is generally accepted that artichoke extract is one safest and most effective PDE4 inhibitors available. This is an important ability because the enzyme PDE4 (phosphodiesterase 4) is responsible for hydrolyzing cAMP.
Higher cAMP levels support improved cognitive function and are especially important for storing and retaining new information in the memory, so it is easy to understand the value of any supplement that protects cAMP by suppressing PDE4. Once this is understood the importance of the next ingredient becomes more apparent.
Coleus Forskohlii has a long history of medicinal use and is a prized ingredient in Ayurvedic medicine. Its main value as a nootropic stems from its ability to boost cAMP levels, so whenever it is mixed with artichoke extract it appears to be a good combination that has the potential to provide a boost to mental acuity across the board.
L-Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid that cannot be manufactured in the body and is extremely important for the correct function of the nervous system. The main benefits obtained via l-phenylalanine include improved concentration, more motivation, increased focus, and relief of anxiety.
Acetyl-L-Carnitine is a brain-boosting ingredient derived from carnitine. Its main nootropic value is the ability to stimulate production of acetylcholine, which then results in improvements to the memory, analytical skills and general cognition.
Plenty of customer feedback is available and there is a loyal base.

Side Effects & Health Issues
Ciltep is not suitable for pregnant or nursing mothers or people under the age of 18. Anyone who has or suspects they may have a medical condition should consult a doctor prior to using this or any other nootropic supplement. The manufacturers also warn against using Ciltep alongside nicotine products or prescription stimulants.
There does not appear to be a money back guarantee.
Purchasing Options & Considerations
A bottle of 60 Ciltep capsules costs about $42.95 (£28.50) plus shipping when I looked around. It is also possible to purchase via Amazon, but the price seems to remain the same.
CILTEP is a vegetarian-friendly product.
Recommendations for Best Results?
CILTEP has an established reputation in the nootropic supplement arena and gets praise from many users, but with the introduction of some cutting-edge products that contain some really proven ingredients, I can’t recommend this one in comparison with them.
Currently, the top nootropic on the market, which I have found to be Mind Lab Pro from Opti-Nutra, contains a massive formula packed with ‘true’ nootropic ingredients.
